Default Tune with one program and later another?

I'm not far off from my LS1 swap in my 69 Nova. I did a search but nothing really seemed to answer my question

Newbie question but say I were to get a tune for my car (cam etc.) from a professional shop and later down the road I get confident enough to install heads on my car (after a cam) and tune it myself will the pcm have to be reset to full factorey settings before I can tune it?

I know you have to mate a car to whoevers computer is being used during a tune but I didn't know if you could go in later with someone elses without any issues

Yes it is fine until you get into custom operating systems and such Ie like 2 or 3 bar MAP sensors.
