I have a 6.0, computer and wiring harness in my buggy from a 2001

I am sending Jim all three computers and he is going to use a different program for the tune

If CalEditor is right, the test computer has no IAC drivers, my original does, and the 2001 computer has to have them

hdw. no. 12589162
The idle just slowly get higher and higher until it max's out.
I use a 12586242 as a test PCM. I installed it in a 2004 C1500 4.3L. The truck started. That was the issue, but the Idle slowly went up.

I personly like the 1mb PCM's, but most of the info I have is on them.

well neither computer will change the IAC position, both have the same tune exactly. He thinks something is wrong with the tune, so he is going to put a different tune in my original computer

serv no 12586242
hwd no 12583660

Can the idle be forced up or down using the scanner bi-di controls?

Any chance youse guys have a hand held IAC tester? Nifty little tool.

What does the scanner say? Is it trying to force the IAC one way or the other? Or is it sitting still?

His PCM doesn't have the hardware to drive the IAC, so it doesn't mater and it works in the other truck.

Ran into this on an '04 Silverado AWD doing a big cable

I don't think you should ever pierce the insulation of any wire for any testing at all...especially wiring in an engine bay...thats just bad plain advice. There is ALWAYS a way to test it without putting a hole (even just a pin ***** is still a hole) that compromises the insulation of the wire.

I can move the IAC plunger in and out by hand, and it idles up or down, but the PCM will not move it, the IAC is working properly

The scanner I have doesnt read IAC counts

it is sitting still, where I move it by hand is where it stays
