I was told by EFI that GM changed the Pins on the PCM starting in 1999. That kind of left the 97 and 98' as being oodballs. Seems that not many of the aftermarket companies wanted to change or make stuff for just the 97's and 98's. Check with Comp and some of the bigger companies to see if they can help.
To my knowledge the hypertech is the only preprogrammed tuner for the 98's, I had one and it was garbage.
SCT makes a custom tuned X2 that will support the 98 cars, but only if the car has the latest GM reflash and it is custom tune only.
