Default P0405 Code EGR Sensor

I got the P0405 code EGR Sensor A Signal Short/Low, I was just wondering hat step do I need to take in order to get rid of the code. I do not want to get it tuned out right now, i will do that soon. But do I need to buy a new EGR valve, or something. Most of the parts on my car are stock, so most of them have about 103000 miles on it, so there bound to go bad. Anyway what steps do I need to take to try and clear this code. Thanks in advance.

The code sets when the egr pintle position is less than .14 volts. If you can get that info on your scanner what is yours reading?

I dont have a scanner, my dad brought it to his friends shop who has a really good scanner. So if it is below .14 volts what does that mean? Thats what i want to know. I have no problem buying a new EGR valve or whatever I need to do in the meantime to make my car run right.
