I've got my own copy of EFI live with a commercial license, I'd like to go ahead and help a buddy out by deleting a few things (rear O2's with the new LT's etc..), however I get a warning from EFI Live that if I proceed to LOCK his PCM to my cable, it's a permanent lock. My question is, will this prevent him from being able to re-read or tune the PCM in the future when he purchases his own EFI Live or HP Tuners? Thanks..

 

Are you trying to lock it or flash it?

Simply flashing it will use a license, in effect "locking" it to the cable.
There is a separate PCM security option that truly locks the PCM.
