Computer Swap HELP I have a O1 SS 6-speed, that was modified with LS1 EDIT, now I'm replaced my old motor with a completely stock one from a wrecker. my questions are?
* What controls the cars odometer, the cluster or computer?
* If I repaced my orginal computer with a "wreckers" computer would a dealer be able to see two different vin numbers or would it use the new computers odometer?

The odometer is controlled by the cluster (80% sure on this)
The "right way" to do it is to have the other computer flashed for your car. Just take it to the dealer or a shop that has a tech 2 and have the computer flashed for your vin and a crank-relearn procedure done.
Or you can just plug it in and disable the VATs if applicable.
