Default check coolant light on?

Started my car today the check coolant light appeared level seems to be fine. After I was driving for about ten minutes then engine light came on. My question is could this engine light be on because the coolant level sensor went out? How many coolant sensors does the car have?

Thanks

check engine light, and check coolant light, are not related.

the coolant is just a light, and does not tell the computer.

There is 1 sensor on the radiator, and if the sensor is bad, you can unplug the connector, and have no problems and the light will go off.

It is best to take out, and clean the sensor, for proper operations

Look below your radiator cap. There is a gray retangular sensor with a wire attached at the bottom. This is your coolant level indicator. If your coolant level is good and the warning light is on, it it is malfunctioning.

They seem to go out at about the 5 year mark. I replaced the one in my '94 in '99, and now the one in my '99 is acting up. Take it out and clean it off, but it may need to be replaced.

Mine does this all the time and the coolant level is correct. I replaced the sensor and the light still comes on.
