iphone REV app on my car !! I purchased this cable
connected my ipod4 to the car ('08 corolla) , started REV and : check engine light came on , cable became so hot and fire smell from the cable !!
contacted the supplier , they issued a refund.
I just wanted to try , it looked like cool app . but does anyone know why that happened ?

Probably a short in the wiring of the cable you bought.
I have a GoPoint GL1 cable and it works fine although I wish it had the ability to read more advanced information like knock sensors, misfires, trans line pressure, etc.
