Default No more USB adapters?

Speed Inc. just left a message on my voice mail saying that my EFIlive shipment has been pushed back because they are changing to a USB interface. Glad I haven't opened this adapter yet.

I have had the new EFIlive with USB for a week now. Other than it first connecting at 19,000 (re-connect and it connects at 115,000) it is pretty nice.

The USB connection ignores the baud rate. It is using a virtual com port and not the physical UART in your PC.

So it doesn't matter what the EFILive (or AutoTap) software "thinks" the baud rate is, it will always be running at the fastest speed possible over the USB connection - which is probably a lot faster then 115200 baud.

However you won't see much in the way of logging speed improvements compared to 115200 baud, because the OBDII data speed (10.4Kbsp) is the bottleneck.

Paul
