I am currently using a 17" laptop it's great for seeing entire tables without scrolling but it is also too big just to rest on a center console of most cars. My friend has a netbook on win 7 and loves it for logging but dislikes having to scroll and modify certain tables. So I would say it comes down to personal preference.

For a boosted engine you'll definitely want to log your afr via a wideband so the PRO version is the way to go as it adds analog inputs for a wideband as well as standalone datalogging for those days at the track where you don't necessarily want a laptop flopping around in the car.

Congrats on the new laptop! I personally feel 15.6" might be a little cumbersome in the car though. My 13" Macbook with its Win 7 partition seems to work really well with HPT, and it's not too hefty.

I bought a fresh used Dell D420 12" windows XP pro from a computer friend of mine. So fqr I'm happy with the laptop but I've had my HP Tuners suite for almost a week now and still son't have the application key. I'm starting to get pissed off.

Sounds like you need to eMail support (at) hptuners or whoever you purchased the product from.

For a laptop I bought a spare a friend had laying about for $50. Sometimes I wish it was a bit smaller (15" screen) but a full keyboard and not having to scroll to see stuff makes it worthwhile. I have big hands so a netbook keyboard and I don't get along well.

I would never use a netbook again...personal opinion though. I couldn't scroll and drive at the same time...not in Chicago traffic.
Only plus side of a netbook that I could think of is its size...both physical (easier to move around and place in car, might even be able to mount on dash) and battery life...

I'm still trying to figure out a way to run EFILive on linux. screw windows.
