Default Instant start up rich? First few seconds.

What table would need to be adjusted to cure an instant rich on startup... its only for like 4-5 seconds that its idling like at 400 and 10:1 AFR then it clears up... but in that 4-5 seconds it almost and sometimes does die.

I messed with the cranking VE... no affect.

I changed the Afterstart enrichment "Initial adder vs. ECT" table, multiplied it by 75% and it got richer, went to 9:1
Wouldnt reducing the number you're multiplying by reduce fuel?

Ive leaned out the VE table there from 400-800 with no affect either.... its the first few seconds im having issues with.

Engines need enrichment to start properly and not stall. If you lean it too much you may have cold starting problems .

Give it more air to make it start fast and reach like 1000 RPM and slowly decay to preset idle.

Maybe you are seeing a false rich condition and pulling fuel won't help.

What are you using to tune? Post your tune file and a datalog to have more info

HP Tuners 2-bar SD. Give it more air where? The VE table does nothing for these first few seconds.

The VE tables are fuel, not air.
You need to modify the airflow tables. There are several tables where you modify the amount of air the engine needs.
I don't have HPT here, but go to idle-idle airflow and on the left you'll see the airflow tables. Raise the values 5% at a time and check

If it's an Fbody, make sure you've got plenty of IAC opening when you cold start it. I usually set them up to open all the way cold. 310 IAC counts.

If you have it setup like that, and still need to remove fuel, you can remove it in the cranking fuel tables.
