99 trans am tachometer help

I have been working on a friends car. We have bs3 installed on the car and we have been trying to get the factory tach to work with bs3. I tied into the cam sensor and crank sensor signal wires. We can make the factory tach work with bs3 but we have a problem at higher rpms. BS3 will loose tach signal with the factory wires tied into the bs3.

When we unhook the factory wires from the bs3 harness the car runs perfectly.

BS3 has a tach output wire and I am wondering if there is any way to use that wire to make the factory tach work on this car?

I would appreciate any help
