Default HP Tuners Unable to Connect
I'm working on my swap from a 2000 silverado 5.3. I am trying to flash in my tune but HP tuners says it is unable to connect, to check if it was HP tuners I tried with my scan tool and it also cannot connect to the pcm.
I have checked the power fuse it is fine, as well as the grounds and the wire running to B 58 on the PCM is good.
Also the pcm functions fine, as the motor will start and everything seems to function properly.

Anyone have any ideas as to what would cause this?

Note: I just noticed while searching that the power to my OBD2 port is ignition and not battery power, would this cause my problem?

Check the OBDII port fuse. I think it is on the same fuse as the cig lighter.

The fuse is good. as stated in the original post.

i have the same problem sort of. i just unplug both ends of the mpvi and plug them both back in. basically power cycle it. seems to work for me. are you using beta?

At one point I had to replace my OBDII in the car because the connection was intermittent. Not saying that is your problem but it was mine.

Also IIRC I had both constant 12v power and an ignition switched power as well.

Well I'm not exactly sure what i did to make it work, but after searching and testing almost everything, I was able to make it connect. Thanks for the help guys.
