Default OBD2 Blowing Fuse

I have just finished a 6L swap into my 64 chevelle and when we plug the HPTuners cable into the obd2 port it is blowing the 10 amp fuse. It is on an isolated circuit so there is nothing else to cause a problem.

Please help....Do I need a bigger fuse?

Are you plugging the obd2 cable into your laptop or obd-to hptuners interface box-to laptop?

You probably do. I'm not sure about 6.0's right now, but f-body's had a 25 amp fuse, because it also powered the cigarette lighter. I would try a 15 amp and see if that works.

How do you have the OBDII Port wired?

serial port on your laptop? Are you using one of the older serial style interfaces? All interfaces produced since 2006 use a USB port, not a serial port.

Also most laptops created in the last 5 or so years don't even have a serial port on them, its a monitor port on most new ones.

I would start taking a serious look at that before you go any further as this sounds like an issue.
