Security Lite
I turned on my car one day, and all of a sudden, the security lite in the dash came on....i looked at the manual, and thought the chip on my key was bad...so i changed the key and started using my spare, but the security lite is still on...the manual said if that lite is on, the security features are turned off for some reason, but my alarm still works.....can anybody tell me why this lite is on?

It may be dirty or failing electrical contacts in the ignition switch. Spray a tiny bit of some "tuner cleaner" in there, and see if that helps. If the "Security" lamp is lit you may encounter a no start condition when you least expect it. I think this is a dealership fix issue...

There is a problem in the VATS system, prolly a bad lock cylinder see/do them alot.
The 20 gauge wires that go to the pellet reader inside the cylinder break after repeatedly turning the cylinder.
You may have a few strands holding on & when they break = no crank.
