Default Tuning Gen 5 camaros

My dad was talking about getting his car tuned but he was unsure if it was tuned that even if the tune was reverted to stock someone could still tell there used to be a tune on it. I know some of the new cars have started to do this but is that true for the new Camaros?

best thing to do is to buy a seperate PCM just for tuning purposes, and swap the stock pcm back in if a warranty issue arises

can't do that... the new ecm's in them also keeps track of the mileage... so if you swap ecm's, they'll know, cuz the mileage won't match up with the odometer/bcm....

Just curious.. how would they know its been altered unless they cross check all the tables? Would the average tech at a dealer check this? Is there anything that would indicate changes have been made?

Of all the dealer techs I know and speak to on a regular basis, most of them never heard of GMs CVN bulletin or how to check the CVN history.

Those types of bulletins get more press on the forums than they do in the actual dealerships

I will say that we have no issues with warranties on 2010-2012 Camaros or any GM based applications that we support

If you have an engine or transmission failure it will come into play.
