hard ware differences, nothing major to my knowledge.

the 2000 will use the EGR and is setup for 26# injectors.

the 2002 does not use EGR and is setup for 28.8#

However, as far as i know you can flash any 99-02 PCM to any 99-02 file. so if its just a core or spare it "should" not matter
