Tuning help in Massachusetts
I have a near stock 2000 Z28 which has been haunting me with constant P1133 codes. I have done everything remotely connected to this code, including the dealer (ouch) Im overdue on state inspection and have reached the point where turning P1133 and P1153 to NR is the only solution. This car does not have long tubes, but new O2 sensors, cats, etc on and otherwise low 70k mile motor.. Anyone know of a shop who might help? My local mechanic is great for mechanical, but readily admits this is beyond him.. Thanks,
Jim
For anyone who has struggled with P1133 and P1153 codes, I did find out two things.
First, I am on my third Denso on the drivers side pre-cat. This one switches exactly like the passenger side pre-cat sensor, and the codes went away. The two Densos in the rear measure almost identical in static voltage and resistance testing, but switch a bit ragged compared to the front two. This was surprising, since all the sensors were brandy new, and sealed.
Second, Dealers suck. Cant they be honest about anything? They swore I had wiring harness shorts and 'high impedance', which they couldn't even explain, and wanted $500 to run 4 new wires to the drivers front O2 sensor, and would not gaurantee it would solve the problem. I spent 2 hours checking all my sensor wiring, and there wasnt even 1/2 ohm difference on any of them. Swapped my front to back sensor on that side and everything cleared up. (the rears dont need to pass a switching diagnosic test)
Sorry for my rant, Im pissed.
