Default Question about SD tunes

I have a turbo build in progress but am wondering about the tune I want to go SD but are most SD tuners able to send a baseline tune to get it started and safley driving reason I ask is I would like to be able to make sure i dont have any other problems before taking out to be dyno tuned

Thx for any input

SD will work, depending on how much boost you will be pushing. I'm running it on my N/A h/c car and I'm thinking about going back to MAF. Higher boost numbers will be a bit more tricky to find a maf to reach the higher frequencies, IIRC. MAF+MAP Transient will always be more efficient and a better way to meter air, but everyone has an opinion on this. But the MAP and MAF pro's and cons compliment each other quite nicely. MAF is good for higher RPM's and faster air speeds, but the MAP preforms well at lower RPM's, so it's a very nice tradeoff.

And correct me if I'm wrong here, by all means..

Depends on your tuner... some can do it, some can't. How are you going to get the base tune into the car - do you have software? Gonna send them the PCM so they can load the tune in? You gotta find a specific tuner to answer your question - it is possible though...
