Ok I bought a PCM from a 2000 CHEVROLET C2500 SUBURBAN for my PSI Standalone harness. Now can I repogram that PCM to be lets say a 2000 T/A instead of a C2500. Reason I ask is because if I get an HP Tuner do I need to get credits for a C2500 or can I get an 2000 T/A license so at least I might be able to help someone else in the future.

So I guess my question is can you change the PCM to different Cars?

 

Depending on the service number, you can use the PCM in different vehicles.

But, just because you license it as a 2000 TA, does not mean you will be able to tune another 2000 TA without licensing that separately. Unless you have unlimited 2000 TAs.

 

Ok, lets forget about helping other people for a moment that was just me being generous.

I bought a Service # 9354896 PCM. It sounds dumb buying a license for a 2500 suburban lol

 

Unless you flash it, or have someone flash it, for another car/OS, you will have to license what's in there, and then license another file, if you wish to swap it to something else.
