Please Help - Dash Problem

Hey guys - i have a 99 z and lately when i get in it i notice that when i start it the tach and speedo go all the way over than roll all the way back to zero then it pauses then the tach shows the reading. at the same time the tripometer resets. now i know GM cars run system checks when the gauges do that but when i first got the car it didnt do it, now it just started. so if anyone out there can tell me any info they might know that would be awesome.
