which software do you like and why?
I like HP Tuners, but the one thing that has me not happy is that we are sill waiting for the 2.24 update for 3.5 years now.
If you contact HP Tuners they will set you up with a Beta version, but the wait for the official release is just getting tiresome.

EFI Live here. Had HPTuners at one stage too and I didn't like it. The proper VE for E38's is nice. But VVE is just as good unless you don't know what your doing.
Main benefit in EFI Live is the scanner. Anyone that has used both will tell you this.
Then there is the hardware. A V2 as a standalone scanner,flash tuner, code reader is unmatched. The MPVI Pro doesn't even come close.
