Converting 98 PCM to 99-02
I have a 98 T/A with an LS6, It's full bolt ons with converter and I plan on doing a mild cam/heads but that's it. My PCM isn't commanding WOT upshifts so I can either get a used 98 which are hard to find and expensive or I can get a used 99+ which are plentiful and about 1/3 the cost. I know the 99+ are faster but is it worth the hassle of converting?

Its not hard to do the conversion i just did it to my harnes. Look up my posts where i posted in another thread about it there is a link in that thread where it tells details about swapping to the 0411 PCM. PM me if you need help or more details.

You need to re-pin the two computer harnesses for the 99+ to work correctly. I would further investigate the actual issue because for you future plans the 98 PCM will do fine.

It was tuned with the engine install about 2 years ago then started acting up last year, I just had my tranny rebuilt and retune and the computer still is not commanding the upshift. The tuner, myself and my mechanic have narrowed it down to a faulty PCM. I think I'm just going to try another 98.
