Default Computer for tuning?

I have used a giant hp laptop to tune my car but would like something smaller. Has anyone ever used a netbook for hptuners? Is thIs possible or a bad idea?

yes, but i believe you can buy external disc drives for the net books. I just wanted to see how many people are using them. I like how small they are and think they would be really handy with RTT. Just didn't know if HPtuners is to much for them to handle.

I bought a Acer netbook for tuning and like it plus the 7 hr battery life is great. Once you buy HP tuners you can go to your login page online and download 2.2 but newer cables have beta and wont work with 2.2. But I copied my beta disk to a SD card and loaded it that way or they can put a downloadable version in your online account

No you dont, I have EFI Live, HPT, and a couple more tuning software's and have downloaded all of them. You have to download updates for all of them so usually the CD is out of date anyways.

The biggest thing I look for when buying a tuning laptop is battery life and battery options. I buy 2 of the biggest extended battery for all my tuning laptops. I dont really care about processor speed or any of that since none of the tuning softwares require anything more than all the current laptops out. I actually slow my laptops down on battery to 40%-50% speed and dim the screen to help with battery life. I can usually tune 2 vehicles on 1 battery if I dont run into any problems.
