Please help 02 dropout in 98

Default Please help 02 dropout in 98

I have 02 drop out with new T-56 etc. I'm looking at a highmilage 98. Can I take the 98 harness and plug and play it with the 02 or will I have problems?

Whats the bad about 98's, I know there different head confige, what else?

so you want to put the 02 ls1 engine into the 98 car?

if that's what your asking yes it will work. you will have to swap the 98 coolant temp sensor on the 02 engine.

the egr will be missing on the 02 engine so you would have to swap your 98 intake and egr system to that engine. unless you plan to delete that.

the cam is a little different grind. and the heads flow a little more. over all it will be fairly close fuel trim will be off a little

throttle cable is different length due the the TB cam so you will want to use the 98 throttle body or buy an 02 cable


the bad? you mean the computer? since your using the 02 engine.. well it is harder to come by some people have had issues tuning them and bugs pop up with erratic behavior. false knock ect.

they dont control the alt. charging and they dont provide cruise enable signal. Im sure im forgetting something but thats the stuff most complain about

The 98 harness is different from the others. But I'm not sure what todo to make it work? One has three plugs the other only two that go into the driver compartment
