Default Gears for HPTuners.

OK I have a question as I think I have 4.56 gears in my Z. In HPTuners I put in 6.08 for the gears to get the speedo corrected. I thought I had 4.10s. I have 295/35/19s on the Z.

the formula I used is 27.5/6.08 to get the possiblilty that maybe I have 4.56s instead of 4.10s for 4.10s the number would be higher like 6.7 or so instead of 6.08 unless I have the wrong formula.

OK someone has to at least know the formula. I purchased the car and it was suppose to have 4.10s in the rear. Thats why I dont quite know which it has.

First off, which car are you talking about and what year is it?

Your tire height is a little high. To be exactly accurate on tire height you should measure the rollout and divide by pi.

To figure out your gear ratio jack the car up and turn the rear tire over one revolution and count how many time the driveshaft turns. If it's barely over 4 times then I'd say 4.10s, if its 4.5 times then it's probably 4.56.

Default Pic

Its the 98 Z in the signature When I measured it was just over 27 when it had the 275/40/19s on it now it has 295/35/19s I assume it should still be about the same height.

See the pic I attached.

If that number works then it must be 4.56s.

Default Thats what I was thinking.

That would explain why no matter what on street tires I cant punch it even rolling in 2nd!!! Plus they are 19" PZeros.

I spent a LONG time trying to configure my gear thinking 4.10s were in there and the tach nor speedo would never get right. So I just started going down the line until I got it where it is now and ended up with that number.

Thanks so much.
