Default Obtaining ECM/TCM for 24x Ls2

I am trying to get my 05 GTO LS2 to work in a Xj Cherokee and I dont have an ECU or TCM. I think that the 12597883 is the correct part # but can I buy any e40 ECM and modify it with HP tuners for my needs?
It looks like that the #12597883 is the most expensive on Ebay but many other E40 ECM are cheaper.

so can anybody tell me which part # I could buy and reprogram with HP tuners for my project?

Why not just use the 99-02 Camaro PCM (or truck PCM if DBW)? Widest possible tuning support, and super easy to get running. All you should need would be extension harnesses for Cam Sensor and knock sensors. Also costs less license wise to tune with HPT. Computers are $100 all day long on Ebay.

Many thanks for the reply
I would have to change some sensors on the engine if I go with the LS1 PCM, so I was actually planning to stick to the E40
Can I use 06 GTO PCM for my 05 engine? There is a different part # but they are both 24x
