scanner powers up but cant communicate with pcm??

After having some exhaust work done my predator can't communicate with the pcm. The predator powers up but says I need to turn the key to the on position. It says that while the car is idling. I checked the cid fuse and that is fine. Any suggestions. The car is a 02 z28 . I thought maybe it was the predator but advance auto scanner done the samething.

Start probing the OBD2 port for voltage. If that checks out, you'll need to start tracing wires back to the PCM and check for a short somewhere in the circuit.

Sometimes the pin at the obd port gets a lil worn out or loose u can depin it and try squishing it a lil bit and see if that cures the problem sounds like it would be the data line wire ifrc its purple
