Ok i thought i new how Skip shift worked but i guess i don't. i thought when the skip shift light came on if you were i 1st gear you could shift to 3rd. well that does not seem to work very well, so i shift it to 4th but the RPM's seem a little low. Please inform me

its blocks 2 and 3rd, or atleast ive never beenable to get it into 3rd. but recently made the best purchase of my life, slp skip shift eliminator! i luv it! i never liked 1 to 4, but i usually do 1 to 3 to 5. thats my pattern.

 

Based on engine temp, RPM, acceleration, and other things, it decides whether or not to block out 2nd so you shift straight into 4th. It's just another dumbass thing GM put in to save gas. It doesn't block 3rd, just 2nd, but when you are pulling down it will just go into 4th...

The CAGS eliminator was the best $18 I ever spent, now when I see that light I just laugh at it, no one tells me when to shift.
