Question PO343 SES code Thrown

This light says camshaft position sensor high input. What doees this mean? I delted it and it will come up on warm start ups. the car runs fine when the code is deleted.

The PCM is telling you that the information it's receiving from the cam sensor is beyond the range of values it was expecting (from the sensor). This could be due to a failure of the sensor itself, or loose/broken wires, loose sensor, or another problem related to the cam sensor. When you delete the code (and the engine runs fine again), my guess is the PCM resorts to an "emergency engine management strategy" since it can no longer rely on the cam sensor to calculate spark timing and fueling.

If you're installing a cam soon you can check/replace the sensor if needed and possibly discover any other problems. Good luck.

P.S. this probably goes without saying, but I wouldn't run it hard or juice it until I solved the check engine light mystery.
