Does PCM Need VSS signal?
Does the PCM need a VSS signal to operate? I have an autometer gauge and its designed to give a signal to the PCM rather than receive it. Its an electronic speedo and you manually calibrate it.
Trying to see if I should just keep is independent from the LS1 system or not.

It does not. It can work fine without a Vss signal
It's better to have a Vss signal hooked to PCM, but not a big issue not possible.
However, you can only use a manual transmission or an older automatic like a TH350 or 700R4, because a 4L60/80E won't shift without a Vss signal

No problem then.
There are adapters to hook a Vss to the TKO and feed it to the PCM.
It will work fine without a Vss, but you will have better idle and spark control if you have one, even if it's not accurate
