vats-passlock
It is possible but it wouldn't be standalone. You need to install the BCM, key with resistor pellet and cylinder to make the engine start without disabling Vats.
A standalone install is a engine with only the PCM and basic wiring. It won't start if Vats is not disabled in the tune.
A car thief of now is a lot more smart if they want to steal something. It involves a car trailer, or they just take the 22 seconds to flash the computer to a non vats state..... You can even send start command with no key via obd data for factory remote start cars, so I wouldn't be to worried about leaving the stock vats in place... It is worthless.. That is what insurance is for....
If it is pass lock it can still be dis abled in the pcm just differently from a lsx engine. Kiill vats in PCM file to make it run in standalone and put a switch in the crank position switch out put wire for security. Without crank position signal it will never start.
