Default Can I Use Hypertech?

I have Ed Wright tuning, I made a gear change . Im told autotap doesnt recognise the Ed Wright program. My question is ., does anyone know POSITIVELY if I can use someone elses hypertech to change my speedo? The guy at Fastchips( Ed Wrights Shop) said I wouldnt hurt their tuning if I just did the speedo calibration. But, can I use someone elses Hyper. on my car or will it not recognize my VIN? Did I make any sense? Please help if you can!

you can't use someone elses hyper unless they're sellling or giving it to you Hypertech is locked to the car... it can only be transferred to another vehicle if the original person removes ALL changes made by the hypertech ... it can only be on 1 car at a time

And I know this positively

Thats what I was afraid of. I was hoping just setting speedo I could do, but I was afraid of the VIN. Thanks for the input!
