tried flashing a 2 bar tune from my 2000 computer into a 2002 computer today. are these computers incompatible for some reason or is there something im missing? for some reason the motor wouldnt rev over 2000-2100 rpm. it looked in the scanner like it was hitting a limiter. the more you step on the throttle the more it would back fire. unfortunetly i didnt save the log. i checked all fuel cuts everything is 6200.
worked fine with the stock 1 bar map and maf setup. i was trying to use my file because i already had it all setup for boost. this was just a tune to get it running and go to the dyno.

They can be flashed with practically any 512KB file, I have flashed them in every possible combination car/truck/os without pcm damage
However, when you flash a different OS the order of the inputs/outputs sometimes change and the car doesn't work, you would need to also rewire the pcm (not practical)
In your case there's no need to flash the 00 os to the 02 pcm, it's better to use the stock 02 os, apply the 2 bar upgrade then copy all tables from the 00 tune to it and flash it. You will get the same features but 100% compatibility
