Free scanner app for 94 and 95 LT1's: Scan9495
I have written an app for the hapless owners of the 94 and 95 F-body cars that are in need of a decent free scantool app. 93 and earlier owners can flash the trouble codes; 96 and later can get a cheap code reader. But 94 and 95 owners are a bit out of luck, and I wanted to do something for them. The app runs on a PC (XP and later, Win7/8 is best) and uses a standard OBD1 adapter cable (same as Freescan, Datamaster, etc). No programming or tuning is offered here. This is all for diagnostics only. Nothing fancy here but a good bit of data, and best of all ... some engine/transmission hardware actuators, ABS and SIR support, including trouble codes for all modules and resets. You can read about it here: http://www.firebirdnation.com/forums...1-scanner-app/
Or you can go direct to the hosting site for the downloads. New versions appear every week until I run out of steam and ideas. http://www.mediafire.com/?0elo4c935uc5s
I welcome and appreciate any feedback you can send. Enjoy.

Surprised this hasn't taken off here like it has elsewhere. I've been using this great software for years but ran into an issue today. Figured I'd post it here for others to find as opposed to PM'ing you. When I plug my cable into my laptop, it is recognized like usual and assigned COM3. When I attempt to connect and scan, SYNC lights up red and there is no communication. This has never happened. I'm using a Windows 7 laptop and have tried the latest 2 versions of Scan9495. I verified the tan wire on the ALDL port has 5v and the ground has 0. Here is a picture of my cable and software. I have tried the drivers from the CD and allowed Windows to use its own drivers for the cable.
