Default L92 w/ e38 in 72 cutlass - P0606 error code

quick background: i installed a L92 engine and e38 PCM into a 1972 cutlass with a TKO 600 trans. i used the stock harness, and i thought the engine and PCM came from the same vehicle(2009 cadillac escalade). now it looks lke the engine may be an 07 or 08, but the PCM is an 09.

after start-up i was having issues with it running really rich. when comparing the pressure vs flow rate table for an 08 and 09 escalade, i realized they were significantly different. i changed the table to match the 08 settings. the engine started up much easier and was running much smoother. i didn't think much of the difference until reading other posts about the p0606 code and it eliminating control of the pedal.

to add to the confusion, i am using a pedal from a 2007 monte carlo ss. i get full function of the throttle blades, but the scan tool always starts at 20+% throttle position and only goes to 80+%.

from what i understand from other posts, the mismatch of the PCM, engine, and pedal may be causing the P0606 error. as i understand it, the throttle body was the same in 2007 and 2008 escalades, and then different in the 2009 escalade.

finally the question: I have another PCM from a 2007 truck. Will this PCM work with my current throttle body to eliminte the P0606 error?

any thoughts are appreciated.

Default added pics - no value

i added some pics. I realize they provide no value here, just hoping to get more attention to the problem/question.

1badcj - hopefully this will get you taken care of.

i am going to read the calibration on the other E38 PCM i have and hope it is something that will help me out. i may end up having more issues trying to make the 2009 PCM and 2009 throttle body work correctly in this engine. i am also still hoping to confirm what year the engine is.

i will share my results of trial and error.

You need to match the ECM OS year (really OS #), APP, and throttle body. They all need to be the same then you wont have any issues. Tuning for a different size/displacement engine is the easy part.

Engine year shouldnt matter as long as it's a 58x reluctor (all L92s are), so you should be ok. It matters only to figure out what injectors are in it (you can read the injector part #s off them too and figure it out that way).

Psi sells a 58x app that works with most all 58 x motors
