Tuning needed to replace TAC?
Hi Forum Members,
I'm still suffering from a SES and Reduced Engine Power concerning codes P2135 and P1125. I have checked the wiring on the TAC to the fuse box and everything seems alright and my Nick Williams 102DBW throttle body is only 4 months old. I will be replacing the TAC, pedal and the connector. The local dealerships says I have to bring in the truck to be calibrated with their Tech 2 in order for it to work properly. I have however read on a post that the tuning is not needed. I cannot take it to the local dealership since its tuned and they do not mess around with modified vehicles.
Do I really have to take it to a GM dealership if I'm installing a new OEM TAC and accelerator pedal?
Thanks

You may need to change both, but start with only the TAC module, if it doesn't fix the problem change the pedal-to-TAC harness, it's easy to do it. The harness from TAC to PCM is not so easy to change but it can be done (this one is the least prone to fail)
