2 Step wiring...

2 Step wiring... Hey,
I just hooked up the msd 2 step on my 99 camaro. It works great but I can't figure out where to hook the 12v or ground activation wire to run off the clutch switch. The clutch switch only has a 12v constant when the key is turned over to start the car, correct? I have tried both purple/white and green wire on clutch switch in every way possible which is what I have searched and came up with. Any help appreciated!
