So I found this little nifty conversion part that converts the cable drive to a electronic signal. My question is, will my PCM pick up the signal and can I just retune the computer for the given signal output? I emailed them and this is what he wrote back....

Yes, it should screw onto your transmission. The signal it will output will depend on the voltage you feed it. For example, if you provide 12 to the power source it will have a 12 volt square wave signal. Most likely it will not work with the factory gauges and you will need a programmable speedometer.
