TPS Readings Help

TPS Readings Help So I'm trying to trace down an idle issue I'm having and wanted to check my TPS readings.
So am I checking it correctly:
Pulled it off the throttle body off the car to make it a little easier to get to.
Set MultiMeter to 20k ohms.
Place positive lead to where blue wire would touch
Place negative lead to where black wire would touch
0.95 with the throttle completely close
3.66 with throttle completely open
It should be closer to 0.5 closed and 4.9 open, right?
What can I do to correct this?
