A4 PCM with M6 I have a PCM from a 4.8L truck with auto, I am going to use it with a 5.7 LS1 with 6 speed. I used LS1-edit to read the PCM but it wouldnt allow me to change the auto to manual. I did a search and found that the dealer could re-flash, so I took the PCM to the dealer. I was told they couldnt change the transmission type, only on a remanufactured unit which is blank to start with, do I really need a 6 speed unit or can I make this PCM work? Exchange on the PCM shouldnt be that bad, may go that route.

I have done this. A company (unnamed) fried the computer in my 99 A4 car. They only had a spare laying around from a 2000 M6. They reflashed the M6 computer with the A4 file and it worked fine. However they have unlimited licenses so this probably won't work for you if your using LS1 Edit.
