Default LS3 and a 6L80

We are trying to get a 2012 LS3 that had a Manuel trans and put a 2012 Cadillac Escalade 6L80 trans behind it, using HP Tuners to set up the computer. The trans is in limp in, looking for some help?

To my knowledge HPtuners will not be able to solve this issue.

The TCM module is paired to the ECM it came with. You must have the dealer flash the TCM and pair it with the ECM you have. Taking a 6L80 from one car and putting it in another can have some very frustrating results. It gets even more frustrating when the trans is a 2011 and your putting it in a 2008 with an early model E38 ECM. Sometimes the dealer will have to go all out and just erase the entire TCM and re flash it. This is a roll of the dice and there is a chance you will brick the TCM. If this happens get ready to lay out a grand to replace it with a new one. Done it, been there, not fun!

The days of easily swapping out transmissions is long gone.

No need to replace the radiator. Install a large inline filter on the return line (top line) to the transmission. The filter will be a car filter type. If there is a bypass in the housing that holds the filter, block it off. This is much cheaper than a radiator and the labor of replacing and installing another one. This filter will catch any metal and anything else coming from the cooling system. Install an external cooler to go along with the one in the radiator.

Darin is right. The tcm and pcm must communicate or your transmission will just sit there. There are some places that can do it. PSI is one of them. If you are using a E38 there is a certain year range that will let you enable the tap up/tap down feature via hardwire. Jim at Zero Gravity performance can also handle this for you.

I don't know who you guys are responding to, but it's a 6-year old thread.
PBA, there is no reference to cooling systems in the OP's 1st post. I don't know what you are referring to.
OP hasn't been here in 5 years
