Default Scan and Sensor Data Tool

I want to be able to hookup my laptop through the OBDII port and see real-time sensor data and trouble codes. I don't need to do any tuning, just want to see what's going on.

What's the best route to go to accomplish this? The ProScan tool looks similar to what i'm trying to accomplish.

Buy a used hp tuner set up. It will caost about the same as a good data logger. I have a genysis Evo and I never even get it out of the box.

Yeah, I figured I'd hear that : ) I'm just a little paranoid I'll mess up something on the tune.

you can get a bluetooth connector, and use an app on your phone, or a tablet.

Buy a cheap ELM-327 interface, you can choose wi-fi, bluetooth or USB, it's the same.
Then download Scan Master or Scan XL, they are cheap
