LS3 dead-zone in throttle response

LS3 dead-zone in throttle response
I'm using the GMPP LS3 wiring harness for their crate engines (LS3 525). Tuned with HP Tuners.
If I just feather the gas pedal (e.g., push it 5-10% of the way down) there's a complete dead zone, meaning the rpms don't do anything. It's not a delay in response, it's a complete dead zone (I could push it 5-10% of the way down and hold it there for an hour and nothing will happen). So far I've gotten around this by pre-loading the gas (I know, safe, lol), but this year I'd much rather tune that out.
Is that a common problem and an easy fix (some table that says don't open the tb until x% of the pedal travel has occurred) or something that's peculiar to my setup? (this is obviously dbw, not cable operated throttle)

Don't have either, lol, I'm just wondering before I start down this path if there is a place in the tune that would control how much the pedal has to be pushed down before the throttle begins to open

We found it - there is a pedal position vs throttle opening area, and until 9% pedal travel I'm at 0% throttle.
However, the table has a warning that changing these values may fry the ECM and TAC.
W-TEEEEEE-EFFFF?
Now to try and figure out if that warning applies to stupid changes (like 50% throttle open at 3% pedal travel) or any changes :/
