Default What idle speed for 404?

How do you determine the correct idle speed for a car?
I have a 404 h/c/i ls2. I love how it sounds at ~850 or even less with the slow chop but it doesnt like to idle that low. It seems to like 950-1100. Is there a right or wrong answer?

I'm not sure a strong cammed LS car can idle well much lower than 850-900

If it will idle at 650 then I put it there. If it idles better at 850-950 then that is where I put it.
