Default From LS1EDIT to HPT???

My ECU currently has LS1EDIT on it. I bought the car with it already installed (seller provided an interface cable as well) but I've never tried to do anything with it.

Now I've decided to change my combo and seems like all local tuners use HP Tuners...so what is the best way to do this?

A) buy another ECU. If so which one ie: "411", etc?

B) attempt to remove edit from my ecu.

C) ???

If I get another ECU, how does it work when I get my state inspection? Would a VIN Number mismatch be an issue for Texas Inspection?

Your PCM doesn't have LS1Edit on it. Someone just used LS1Edit to change the calibration in it. You can simply read the PCM with HP Tuners and use it to edit it again. Even it it was locked with LS1Edit, you have the cable to unlock it.
