Default VATS Removal question.

Nearing completion of my LS2 into RX7 FD. I know I will need to remove the VATS but the question is should the engine start without VATS removal. I seem not to have power to coils or injectors ? Thanks for any advice.

Vats will allow a short start/die sequence. If you have no power to either the coils or injs, look elsewhere.
What kind/brand of harness? Stock modified, or?
Check all grounds, fuses, and power wires. Should have power in both start and run key positions.

Gen III's will try to fire and die but I had an 07 E38 PCM I forgot to disable VATS on and it didn't do anything but crank. It's funny now but wasn't at the time. At least I could see why it wouldn't fire in HP Tuners.

It's an E40 ecu. I'm told on another forum that I will not get any response without VATS removed so perhaps it's an ecu thing?

I'm using the stock engine loom so really just adding 12v power and rewiring starter circuit. Although I will recheck power supply is still there during cranking. Thanks for any input. Kev.

i had the same problem with mine. no fuel pump signal, spark, or injector pulse. i had a bad ground. cleaned, relocated, crank crank boom. also with an e40 ecm, but vats had been removed.

Checked power when cranking and ecu getting power. Injectors/coils have their own feed via a connector on the engine loom. So maybe the E40 ecu with VATS enabled will not allow engine to start at all.

i was also getting power at the ecu. the aldl connector had power, the throttle blade would move with the pedal, just wouldn't fire.
