Default Rev limiter question.

Just a question, was getting random misfire code a couple of times. If u hit the limiter does it set a random missfire code? Or should i look somewhere else? Maybe new plugs. Thanks. Marc

I don't think so, at least when I've hit the limiter it hasn't. I'd look at the plugs, make sure the coils are seated on the plugs correctly etc.

The only way a rev limiter can trip a misfire DTC is when you use an external box to cut spark, like a MSD 2-step or wot box.
The stock limiter cuts fuel and never trips the misfire DTC.
If you have no external devices to cut spark, then you have another issue like floating valves or ignition problems

After adding a cam, you may have to increase the misfire cycles about 10%. You said you added new spark plugs, that also could be the problem if a wire is loose.
