Default LS1 Edit opinions please

Anyone out there still using LS1Edit?? The cable and program came with my car when I bought it. My car was modified/cammed winter of 99/00 so at the time it was all that was available. I am debating trying to learn it since its free...or should I just look at something else?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

No good scanner and the software is probably comparable to HP Tuners version 1.x. I think they did develop a bare bones scanner that would work with their cable that you could download for free with very limited data display abilities. Lots of PCMs were turned into bricks back in the day flashing with their cable and software. Flash times were pretty long. It is probably a serial port cable so you should try and use it with a laptop with a real serial port. USB to serial port adapters were never that reliable and increased the probability of bricking the PCM. Will it work? Probably yes for that old of a vehicle. Are there better tuning options available? Definitely yes.
