Default Remove Maf ends for tuning?

When you guys refer to "its better to tune with the stock maf" do you mean the stock sensor (with stock circut board inside) or do you mean stock maf absolutely unported. I'm running maf ends and would like to keep them on, but will the extra flow skew the readings?

sheesh this sound like such a newwbie question

Yes we are referring to the stock ends (unported). Porting the ends without changing the values in the pcm will scew its air readings. This can result in a tuning nightmare. It is best to go with a MAF that has values you know and can change in Edit or HP tuners eg 85mm corvette MAF

Ah, okay, thanks. Well they will have to come off then I guess.

I was reading about a resistor across one of the MAF boards causing tuning troubles. What is all that about? Is that an aftermarket MAF they are talking about?

What gm MAF sensors are usable in our cars and have known values? Is the 85mm a z06 maf or are all C5's 85? What size are the truck MAF's and can we use those? Where do I get the values for them?

Thanks!
